The State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (University of Macau) invites applications for the position of Associate/Assistant Professor, who will also be a joint faculty member in the Faculty of Science and Technology, in the following disciplines:

Faculty of Science and Technology - FST

Faculty of Science and Technology aims to provide programmes for undergraduate and graduate education with quality reaching international standard. It strives to become a research active unit advancing the knowledge of engineering and science, and serves the community and industry as an agent of technological innovation and educational advancement. Currently, about 90 faculty members from diverse international backgrounds serve in this faculty. Qualifications


	A PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related disciplines;?
	A distinguished record of internationally-recognized research and scholarship;
	Demonstrable competence in communication; and
	English is the working language, while knowledge in Chinese/Portuguese will be an advantage.


The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. The Position

This position is funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence in Optical Microcombs for Breakthrough Science, which explores societal impacts of optical frequency combs through advances in physics, materials science, and nanofabrication.

Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) has recently revolutionised seismology by turning telecommunication fiber-optic cables into high-resolution ground motion sensors. This cutting-edge technology bridges the gap between traditional seismic imaging and geological samples, offering a wide range of applications.

The Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Fellow will work on the deployment, acquisition, analysis and interpretation of large DAS datasets and development of technical advances using optical frequency microcombs.? The goal is to expand the capability of our strong field-based seismic imaging research utilising DAS with new technology innovations through the ARC Centre of Excellence COMBS, and therefore understanding of the Earth’s structure and evolution.

The Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Fellow will be a member of?Research School of Earth Sciences?(RSES). The Person

The Department of Portuguese of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Senior Instructor of Portuguese. The Department of Portuguese is an established and lively scholarly community. The Department offers an undergraduate degree in Portuguese Studies concentrating on Portuguese with selected courses in Language, Linguistics, Literature, Culture, History and Translation. At the undergraduate level, the Department also teaches Portuguese language within the Faculty of Law and offers elective courses in Portuguese as a foreign language to students from all faculties of the University. Qualifications

Applicants should have extensive experience in teaching Portuguese to non-native speakers at university level. Previous experience in teaching initial and advanced levels Portuguese to native speakers of Chinese will be highly valued. Applicants must be native speakers of Portuguese or to show a near-native command of the language. Proficient command of English is mandatory.
