Szent Istv¨¢n University is a technology university located in Hungary. It is located about 30km away from the capital city of Budapest in the city of G?d?ll?. There are other campuses in Budapest, B¨¦k¨¦scsaba, Gyula, J¨¢szber¨¦ny, and Szarvas.
The university is still a relatively young university having only been established in 2000 following the merger of several independent institutions. The university is named after the Hungarian King Stephen I (the Saint).
There are eight faculties at the university including agricultural and environmental sciences; agricultural and economics studies; economics and social sciences; food science; horticultural science; landscape engineering and urbanism; mechanical engineering; and architecture and civil engineering.
There is a swimming pool on campus which is open throughout the summer as well as tennis courts. Students are also able to go hiking through the hills, which is often organised by the university.
The university library is also a national public scientific library, which serves the alumni, tutors and researchers of the faculties. Members of the public that are interested in the sciences are also able to visit.
The university has a number of international partnerships across the world including in Croatia, Greece, China, Japan, America, Mexico, Germany and Portugal among others.
The town of G?d?ll? dates back to the Middle Ages and is home to one the royal palaces. It is now a quickly expanding suburb of Budapest and attracts many new residents. It is home to a number of industry headquarters which is balanced out by the many woodland areas surrounding the city.
