Teacher Education College of S谷tif was opened in 2015 in El Eulma, the second city of S谷tif province, in north-eastern Algeria.
The city of S谷tif, 25km from El Eulma, formed part of the Phoenician empire, before becoming part of the ancient Berber kingdom. S谷tif province is also home to the Unesco World Heritage site of Dj谷mila, where Roman architecture is uniquely adapted to the mountain environment.
Teacher Education College of S谷tif cites its mission as furthering higher-education training, scientific research and technological development. It offers education in the following disciplines: Arabic language and literature, history and geography, exact sciences, English and French.
Training to teach at primary-school level requires a three-year degree. Teaching at middle-school requires four years of study. And training to teach at a high school requires five years of university study.
