Turkmen Agricultural University, named after Saparmurat Niyazov (the first post-Soviet president of Turkmenistan) is Turkmenistan¡¯s largest higher-education institute.?
The university offers agriculture-related education across eight faculties: agronomy; mechanisation of agriculture; textile production; processing of agricultural products; veterinary medicine; hydromelioration; agroecology; and economics and agricultural management.
TOHU includes training centres in John Deere, Caterpillar and Claas agricultural machinery. Other facilities include computer facilities, dormitories, a canteen, indoor and outdoor sports grounds, a spacious reading room and an electronic reading room. The university also houses historical and natural-history museums.
