The Universidad Internacional del Ecuador is a privately funded university located in Quito, Ecuador. It was founded in 1989 through the establishment of the Jorge Fern¨¢ndez Foundation. The university officially began its operations on 21st October 1992.
The university's main campus, spanning 38 hectares, is situated in the valleys of Cumbay¨¢ and Los Chillos, near the centre of Quito. The campus features various facilities, including administrative offices, classrooms, libraries, recreational areas, sports fields, and student residences. Notably, it has a botanical garden, a golf course, and horse stables.
There are also satellite offices in Loja, Spain and Guayaquil, Ecuador extending its educational reach, along with an International Research Center in the Galapagos Islands.
The university comprises several faculties, including the business school (offering programmes such as business administration, marketing, and international business), technical sciences (providing programmes such as automotive engineering, civil engineering, and mechatronics engineering), architecture, design and art (with programmes such as architecture and design), medical, health and life sciences (offering programmes such as medicine, dentistry, psychology, and veterinary), hospitality and environmental management (providing programmes such as hospitality and gastronomy), and jurisprudence, social sciences, and humanities (offering programmes in communication, law, and international relations).
