Universidad Nacional de Rosario dates back to 1968 when it was established as the Rosario campus of the National University of the Littoral. It has since become one of the leading higher education institutions in Argentina.
The university is located in Rosario, a city in the Argentine province of Santa Fe.
Academically, the university is organised into several faculties including the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics and Statistics, and the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations. Each faculty is divided into different departments, which offer a wide variety of degree programmes at both undergraduate and graduate level.
Outside the classroom, the university encourages students to participate in a range of extracurricular activities, volunteer initiatives and community outreach programmes. For those passionate about the arts, there are clubs dedicated to music, theatre, dance and visual arts, while sports enthusiasts have the opportunity to represent the university in regional and national competitions.
The university has a notable list of alumni such as the politician and physician Hermes Binner and the biologist Rachel Chan.
