Universidade Jos¨¦ Eduardo dos Santos was named after the president of Angola from 1979 to 2017. It is based in the city of Huambo, 600 kilometres south-east of the capital, Luanda.
It was established in 1962 with courses in veterinary medicine and agronomy and forestry.
Students can study across faculties of law, agricultural science, economics, veterinary medicine, engineering, medicine and the polytechnic institute.
The 19 degree programmes offered include seven branches of engineering while new courses include a masters in forestry and environmental science and a PhD in food technology.
