The State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (University of Macau) is expected to promote smart city development in prospective of IoT, Big Data Technology and Engineering in Macao and inject a fresh impetus to the development of the Greater Bay Area by enhancing research and training in the field and providing technical support plans for improving economic performance, people’s quality of life, and social management. Faculty of Science and Technology - FST

Faculty of Science and Technology aims to provide programmes for undergraduate and graduate education with quality reaching international standard. It strives to become a research active unit advancing the knowledge of engineering and science, and serves the community and industry as an agent of technological innovation and educational advancement. Currently, about 90 faculty members from diverse international backgrounds serve in this faculty. Qualifications


	A PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, or related disciplines;?
	Candidates should have considerable experience in academic development planning and research development, and be excellence in teaching, research and service with outstanding academic leadership skills for research and development;
	A distinguished record of internationally-recognized research;
	Substantial experience in securing research funding;
	Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
	English is the working language, while knowledge in Chinese/Portuguese will be an advantage.


The selected candidate is expected to assume duty as soon as possible.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. Apart from competitive remuneration, UM offers a wide range of benefits, such as medical insurance, provident fund, on campus accommodation/housing allowance and other subsidies. About School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment

Our school offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Industrial Design, Architecture, Construction Management, and Engineering, integrating advanced academic knowledge with practical training. We are seeking a forward-thinking, dynamic, and innovative scholar to join our team as a Associate Professor in Industrial Design. About the Role?

You will be responsible for undertaking research related activities associated with the project titled “Cultivating Systemic Safety to Prevent Workplace Sexual Harassment” funded via an ARC Linkage Project Agreement. This project sits within the Centre for Workplace Excellence, in partnership with 12 organisations who play an important role in understanding the origins of sexual harassment in the workplace in Australia, and are working to mitigate this problem.

Workplace sexual harassment is a significant issue, costing our economy more than $3.5 billion each year. It disrupts business operations and slows progress in achieving gender equality at work. Traditional prevention methods include policies, training, and reporting, which focus on the behaviour itself without addressing its root causes. This misdirection of effort is a major reason why the problem persists. The project will learn more about the origins of sexual harassment in the organisational system – looking deeper into aspects like organisational culture, social dynamics, job and task characteristics, technology, and the physical work environment – and develop new evidence-based prevention strategies.?

You will proactively support and contribute to high quality research through advanced qualitative analysis, competitive research grant activities, as well as actively participate in research concentrations and other relevant collaborative forums, to deliver high quality research outcomes.
