About the Role?

The Research Associate will drive the research efforts within UniSA STEM, contributing to innovative solutions for the 'Enhancing the RAN’s Undersea Surveillance Minimum Viable Capability' project. Reporting to a Professorial Lead, this role will support critical advancements in Defence and National Security, specifically by developing mathematical and AI-driven models to optimise the deployment of uncrewed surface vehicles for undersea surveillance in varying threat environments.

The role collaborates with UniSA researchers and external partners to drive advancements in AI for undersea surveillance. ?

The Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Vienna is an innovative and future-orientated faculty. Based on a strong disciplinary core, the broad range of subjects at the University of Vienna opens up many opportunities for modern computer science, which is increasingly entering application areas at the interfaces to the natural sciences, economics, medicine, social sciences and humanities.

Your workplace:

As a Senior Lecturer, you will be employed in the area of IT systems engineering fundamentals. You will primarily design and lead introductory and in-depth courses on topics such as modelling methods, information systems engineering, databases, operating systems and the associated technical foundations of computer science. You will develop the courses you supervise in line with the current state of research and harmonise the content with the other courses in the curriculum. You will organise the courses according to modern didactic principles, help to determine the requirements for the necessary technical infrastructure and coordinate these with the relevant departments.

The position can also be filled on a part-time basis (20 hours/week).

The employment level of 40 hours/week includes an average teaching commitment of 14 semester hours per week of academic teaching, with an employment level of 20 hours/week an average of 7 semester hours per week of academic teaching.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in scientific teaching, research & administration, which means:


	You will teach courses at Bachelor's and Master's level independently or together with other lecturers
	You will make an active contribution to the (further) development of course and examination formats
	We expect from you the ongoing reception of the current state of science as well as continuing didactic training. Research activities are welcome, but not mandatory.
	In addition, the assumption of administrative tasks, especially in the administration of teaching, is part of the job profile.

About the Position

This rare opportunity will be offered to an outstanding leader and researcher for an initial three-year appointment with the intention of extension if agreed performance outcomes are met. At Bond University, there is currently an increasing focus on research that improves all areas of health with a focus on excellence, innovation and implementation of evidence-based care. The panel will determine the appointment level based on the incumbent's track record and level of achievement.

Established in 2010, the Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare (IEBH) is currently Bond University's only whole-of-University interdisciplinary research Institute. The Institute engages with a globally connected team of highly skilled, interdisciplinary researchers and educators. We aim to guide individuals and groups to consider ways to provide sustainable, evidence-based healthcare and how research can better inform policy and practice. The Institute aims to improve healthcare by better understanding the causes of, and solutions to, gaps between research evidence and its application in practice and policy. The Institute also aims to enhance Bond's reputation as Australia's leading private, independent, not-for-profit University.

The Evidence-Based Practice Unit (EBPU) is a team of experienced research professionals located at the Gold Coast University Hospital. We provide GCHHS staff with support in using, conducting, and translating high-quality research and activities into practice. This is a joint initiative between Bond University and the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Services (GCHHS) located on-site in Southport. The Unit aims to improve the efficiency and quality of care patients receive and deliver translation research that also uplifts clinician-researcher and EMCR capacity at the GCHHS.

About the person

We are seeking an energetic and proactive leader, ideally a clinician-researcher, who brings strategic vision, academic rigor, and proven experience in clinical environments and multidisciplinary team collaboration. This role is based at Bond University's Robina campus and the Evidence-Based Practice Unit at Gold Coast Hospital, Southport.

In this senior academic leadership position, you will contribute to the leadership, management and strategic direction of the Institute for Evidence-based Healthcare and lead a program of clinical research that aligns with the major Institute themes.

Reporting to the Director of the Institute, you will provide direction for the Evidence-Based Practice Unit based at GCHHS. The portfolio at GCHHS includes uplifting research capability and delivery in implementation science, research and teaching, contracting and support services such as statistics and philanthropy. Additionally, you will be instrumental in building research and clinical capacity among the hospitals and Institute staff.

The Department of Portuguese of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Senior Instructor of Portuguese. The Department of Portuguese is an established and lively scholarly community. The Department offers an undergraduate degree in Portuguese Studies concentrating on Portuguese with selected courses in Language, Linguistics, Literature, Culture, History and Translation. At the undergraduate level, the Department also teaches Portuguese language within the Faculty of Law and offers elective courses in Portuguese as a foreign language to students from all faculties of the University. Qualifications

Applicants should have extensive experience in teaching Portuguese to non-native speakers at university level. Previous experience in teaching initial and advanced levels Portuguese to native speakers of Chinese will be highly valued. The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP611,940 (approximately USD75,550) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
