The Central Institute of Training Leaders of Public Education of the Ministry of Education for the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic was founded in 1952, the first higher-educational institute of postgraduate education in Ukraine.
Its name was then truncated to the University of Educational Management, or UEM for short.
It is now divided into three institutes: the Central Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education; the education and scientific institute of management and psychology; and Bila Tserkva institute of continuous education.
UEM provides a hostel for student accommodation. Facilities also include a press centre and broadcasting area.
There is an active student life, propelled by student self-governance. Alongside conferences, seminars and workshops, UEM offers concert programmes and humour contests.
