Located in the Fraser Valley just east of Vancouver in British Columbia, the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) is a fully accredited, public university.

It was founded as Fraser College in 1974 and gained university status as the University of the Fraser Valley in 2008.

UFV has campuses and locations in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission and Hope, and has a growing presence in Chandigarh, India.

UFV offers more than 100 programmes, including three master*s degrees, 17 bachelor*s degrees with majors, minors, and extended minors in more than 35 subject areas, four graduate certificates, and more than a dozen trades and technology programmes.

These are hosted within the college of arts, the faculty of access and continuing education, the faculty of applied and technical studies, the faculty of health sciences, the faculty of professional studies, the faculty of science and the school of graduate studies.

The five largest and most active departments are business administration, mathematics, criminology/criminal justice, English and psychology.

The University of Fraser Valley is represented in U Sports by UFV Cascades which in the last 25 years of competition, and has a track record as one of the most decorated post-secondary athletic programmes in Canada. The Cascades have won three conference championships and 15 provincial championships.

The Envision Athletic Centre houses two gymnasiums and a fitness centre.
