Established in 1993, the University of Huelva (Universidad de Huelva) was established in 1993 in between the towns of Huelva and Palos de la Frontera, in Andalucia, Spain.

Its motto is Sapere Aude - "dare to know" in English and is spread over four sites: the main campus is El Carmen, to the north of the city where the faculties of experimental sciences, law, humanities, education sciences, labour sciences, the school of nursing and the school of social work reside, as well as the state of the art computing facilities and the central library.

The faculty of business science is housed in an architecturally impressive building next to the cathedral and is known as La Mercred.

Known for its ambitious research programs and dedication to quality teaching, the University of Huelva is attended by 13,000 students. There are a variety of classes taught in English and Spanish is offered as a foreign language. Areas of study include business administration and management, chemistry, education, engineering, English language and literature, environmental science, geography, geology, history, nursing, psychology, social work and tourism.

The province of Huelva is in southwestern Spain, with Portugal to the West, Seville and Cadiz to the east, Extremadura to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the south.

The capital city (of the same name) is nestled between the estuaries of the Rivers Odiel and Tinto and is short drive from the stunning 120-kilometre coastline of fine sandy beaches. The city has a small population (14,500) and is easy to discover on foot. It has one of the lowest crime rates in Spain.
