The University of Mataram was established in 1962 with just one faculty, the faculty of economics. The university is located in Mataram, a city on Lombok Island, Indonesia.
Today, there are nine faculties within the university: education and teacher training, economics, engineering, mathematics and science, law, agriculture, food and agroindustrial technology, medicine, and animal science.
The faculties offer 36 undergraduate degree programmes, which require a four-year period of study, and 12 master¡¯s degree programmes. There is also the faculty of postgraduate studies for students wishing to further their studies and conduct their own research.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the university started offering online Korean language classes for students looking to learn a new skill or practice their Korean language.
The Office of International Affairs is responsible for developing partnerships with other higher education institutions around the world. These partnerships facilitate student exchange programmes, joint research projects, academic and scientific collaboration and joint seminars and workshops. The university has developed partnerships in countries including New Zealand, Australia, India, France, Malaysia, Spain and South Korea.
The University of Mataram¡¯s Hospital and Clinic is one of the main providers of healthcare in the West Nusa Tenggara Province. The hospital is situated beside the university¡¯s main campus and is open to all students, faculty members, staff and people in the surrounding area that require medical treatment.
