About the Role 

As the Senior College Support Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating high level administrative and organisational tasks, functions, and other key activities as defined by the College Leadership team.

In this role you will manage incoming and outgoing communication on behalf of the College, provide operational support to our disciplines and College events, and handle general enquiries across functional areas in a timely and efficient manner. You will also provide executive support for staff meetings, committees and/or working parties, including scheduling, managing diaries, preparing agendas, taking minutes and undertaking follow up work as required.

Working within a pooled support team, you will collectively support the College and Leadership group and provide general support to the broader University leadership team during absences of other team members.

About You 

You will have demonstrated experience in the provision of high-level administrative services, providing high quality outcomes using judgement, initiative, and confidentiality. You will have high attention to detail and excellent organisational skills to provide project support and organise events and functions.

You will have well developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to a wide range of staff at all levels, and the capacity to prepare correspondence and respond to enquiries autonomously.

To be successful in this role you will also demonstrate:


	Experience in mentoring and guiding staff
	Sound knowledge of contemporary administrative systems, software and practices, and experience in interpreting and applying a range of relevant policies and procedures within a large and complex organisation.
	Relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.

About the job

For a position as a PhD Candidate, the goal is a completed doctoral education up to an obtained doctoral degree.

The Department of Marine Technology?at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) has a vacancy for a PhD candidate for the project “Advanced Condition Monitoring of Offshore Wind Turbines using Contactless Sensors and Operational Modal Analysis”.

The main aim of this project is to develop a condition monitoring system with contactless sensors for critical drivetrain components of offshore wind turbines integrated with advanced data processing system and decision support where system properties are identified and monitored in near real time scenarios. Operational modal analysis will also be employed for system identification and updating. In addition, the project will benefit from close collaboration with the industry. The outcomes will include advanced condition monitoring system with contactless sensor which can be integrated to existing data acquisition system enabling to monitor wind turbine health as well as estimating remaining useful life (RUL).This PhD project is supervised by Professor?Amir R. Nejad?and Professor?Ole Andre ?iseth.

Your immediate leader is Head of the Department.

Required selection criteria


	You must have a professionally relevant background in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Mechatronics
	Your education must correspond to a five-year Norwegian degree program, where 120 credits areobtained at master's level
	You must have a strong academic background from your previousstudies andan average grade from the master's degree program, or equivalent education, which is equal to B or better compared with NTNU's grading scale. If you do not have letter grades from previousstudies, you must have an equally good academic basis. If you have a weaker grade background, you maybe assessed if you can document that you are particularly suitable for a PhD education.
	You must meet the requirements for admission to the?faculty's doctoral program
	Good written and oral English language skills. This can be documented by an approved test. Approved tests are TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE).

Salary and conditions

As a PhD candidate (code 1017) you are normally paid from gross NOK 532?200 per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. From the salary, 2% is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

The period of employment is 3 years.

ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt is seeking to fill a university professorship (W3) for Forming Technology as soon as possible. The importance of forming technology is increas-ing in the context of the growing demand for resource-efficient products. New manufacturing technologies must enable both material-efficient and multifunctional components. This requires innovations that not only consider individual manufacturing technologies but also the interlocking of technologies in novel process chains. The increasing customisation of products also requires flexible and autonomous machine concepts that not only increase productivity but also counteract the shortage of skilled workers.

In addition to forming technology as a core technology, the professorship’s research should also include other manufacturing technologies in the sense of a comprehensive process chain approach. We are looking for a scien-tist with an international reputation and visibility who represents the field of forming technology in research and teaching.

YOUR TASKS

To strengthen our research activities, we are looking for a person with excellent scientific credentials in the field of forming technology and relevant experience in one or more of the following key research areas:


	Production process chains for multifunctional components (e.g. innovative sheet metal process chain)
	Technology development for products with material diversity (multi-material components)
	Automated and autonomous machine systems and components
	Machine development and machine design


We expect a willingness for national and international co-operation and interdisciplinary work both within the department and with other departments and research institutions.

The professorship should also represent the field of forming technology in teaching and also participate in overar-ching courses in the department.

YOUR PROFILE

A degree in engineering or natural sciences followed by a qualified doctorate, internationally recognised research achievements, habilitation or equivalent, experience in acquiring third-party funding, didactic and pedagogical aptitude, leadership experience and a willingness to participate in academic self-administration are required. Several years of practical experience in industry in the fields of manufacturing technologies and production machinery are considered highly advantageous.

As part of the Frankfurt-Rhine-Main metropolitan region, TU Darmstadt and its surroundings are characterised by an international outlook. A core element of this is a cosmopolitan climate with functional multilingualism at our university. Therefore, very good English and – after three years at the latest – good German language skills are expected.

The position includes a remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications, following the German “W-Besoldung”, and is subject to negotiations between the applicant and the university directorate. Are you interested in experimental aerosol physics and developing novel methods? Are you fascinated by large-scale international aircraft field experiments addressing urgent environmental challenges such as climate change? Your personal sphere of play:

As a university assistant (Post-doc) in this 6-year position, you will be part of the Aerosol Physics and Environmental Physics Group around Professor Bernadett Weinzierl.

The Aerosol Physics and Environmental Physics (AEP) Group at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna combines highly-sophisticated laboratory, ground-based and aircraft experiments with innovative modelling to study the fundamental physical and chemical properties of aerosol particles and clouds. Current research focuses on related but different areas of aerosol science and covers the whole size spectrum from the nano- to the microscale. We are looking for a motivated Post-doc to extend our team.?

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:


	You will be involved in unique ground-based and airborne research projects in which we collaborate with top scientific institutions such as NASA and NOAA.?
	You will be in the field for large-scale aircraft measurement campaigns (typically several weeks per year) that only a few groups in the world carry out.
	You will contribute to the setup and operation of upcoming ACTRIS National Facility for aerosol in-situ at the University of Vienna.
	Your research will focus on microphysical aerosol properties, and on the detection of airborne microplastics.
	You will perform laboratory characterization of new instruments for ground-based and airborne application.
	You will analyze and interpret data from the urban background Aerosol Observatory at the University of Vienna, and from past and upcoming ground- and airborne field experiments.
	You will continuously stay informed about the state of the art in your field, and develop and strengthen an independent research profile.
	You will contribute to outreach by publications, conference presentations and public activities.
	You will contribute to the success and self-organization of the group for research, and help with some administrative tasks.
	You will contribute to project applications and the acquisition of third-party funding.
	You will independently teach courses as defined by the collective agreement, and (co-)supervise students.


This is part of your personality:


	You have completed your PhD degree or Diploma in physics, and/or aerosol related topics such as atmospheric sciences, aerosol chemistry or meteorology.
	Knowledge in experimental physics and field work, ideally in aerosol physics and/or atmospheric physics, including measurements of aerosol microphysical properties.
