The successful candidate will assist research activities to support the Mental Health Guidelines for United Kingdom and Ireland Community Sport research project.

The post holder will:


	Assist in recruitment of participants, data collection and analysis.
	Contribute to produce high quality research outputs in oral and written format, consistent with project aims andcommensurate with career stage. This will include collaborating and co-authoring with PI and project team (as appropriate) on outputs.
	In consultation with the project team, promote research milestones and outputs at national and internationalconferences.
	Assist grant holder in the preparation of funding proposals and applications to external bodies
	Carry out occasional educational supervision, demonstrating or lecturing duties within the post holder's area ofexpertise and under the direct guidance of a member of academic staff.
	Undertake supplementary duties relevant to the success of the project including administrative duties andadditional training and development activities as required.


About the person:

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:


	Have or about to obtain a degree in Psychology. Working towards an MSc in the area of mental health CV


Research and Associated Activities Recent relevant experience to include:


	Conducting interview or focus groups
	Reviewing academic research in mental health
	A publication record which is commensurate with career stage and experience
	Experience of conducting research in mental health and sport. CV and interview

We are looking for a Lecturer in Medical Education to join the School at this exciting time.

The role

The successful candidate will focus on delivering high-quality teaching to our graduate entry students over the four-year program: this will include biomedical science, physiology, clinical medicine, communication skills, and clinical specialty and skills teaching (as per expertise).

You will support students in small and large group teaching (including team and case-based learning) and will contribute to clinical and communication skills sessions and simulation-based teaching. We would also expect you to contribute to our admissions process, to standard setting, to writing knowledge tests and OSCEs, and to supporting OSCE examining.

About you

To join our School, you’ll need to be a forward-looking individual with the ambition to drive innovation in medical education. You’ll have full registration with the GMC, a higher professional qualification (usually a doctoral degree or equivalent), and are likely to hold a Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy or Academy of Medical Educators.

In addition to these qualifications, you’ll have experience of providing high quality teaching and will have good knowledge of medical education principles and practices (including course accreditation, quality assurance processes, and knowledge of the professional requirements of the GMC). You’ll also have a significant academic publication record and evidence of scholarly contributions to conferences, professional meetings, and societies. Finally, as an excellent communicator, you’ll have the ability to use tact, diplomacy, and empathy to build effective working relationships at all levels.

	A demonstrated record of innovation, achievement and quality improvement in teaching to implement sustainable change.
	A comprehensive understanding of Indigenous communities, cultures and contemporary issues, within Victoria and more broadly across Australia, particularly issues of education for Indigenous Australians.
	Demonstrated effective leadership with a proven track record of developing and implementing strategies for advancing Indigenous success in education and employment.
	Strategic thinking and the ability to provide leadership and guidance for the academic directions of the faculty.
	Strong track record of collaboration with academics, researchers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and internal and other external stakeholders.
	Ability to develop partnerships and alliances with professional, industry and government organisations and with other educational institutions in Australia and overseas in advancing Indigenous learning and teaching innovations.
	Understanding of the Health sector, established network and working relationships within the Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Khalifa University

Are you an experienced clinician who wishes to diversify into education?

If you associate with these values and are interested in partnering with the profession to deliver innovative clinical veterinary education and, then we have an opening for a part time (0.8 FTE/28.8 hours/week) LCVP within the equine section of our team.

At the School of Veterinary Medicine, we have successfully established a high-quality network of clinical practices to deliver a fully distributed model of workplace based clinical education. By extensively partnering with the profession, we have developed an authentic, relevant, and student-centred approach to clinical veterinary education.

The role

Integral to this model are the Lecturers in Veterinary Clinical Practice (LVCPs) (Equine), our team of clinical tutors who provide oversight of individual development and evaluation of final year students toward attainment of day-one competences and support practice-based trained clinical mentors in the delivery of our Intramural Rotation (IMR) module. This is achieved through regular and frequent practice visits to meet with clinical mentors and through the provision of one-to-one feedback and coaching of students. ?As well as overseeing the successful development of the students’ portfolio, the LVCP team also play a key role in the assessment of final year students, and act to remediate where necessary.

This position would suit someone with experience in equine practice but additional experience working with other species would be advantageous. We are looking for someone with an intuitive passion for teaching. Prior academic experience is not a prerequisite, but some teaching experience would be an advantage.

Due to the nature of the role and the geographical locale of our partner practices, this post would ideally suit some-one based in the South West of England, however strong candidates from other locations will be considered. There will be a requirement to come to Guildford to teach, for teacher training and other activities. Time outside of this the role will be split between working from home and practice visits with renumeration. There may be an occasional requirement for overnight stay depending on location.

These roles support flexible working and include substantial holiday allowance (up to 9 weeks), opportunities to follow your own research interests and a generous USS pension scheme.

Salary Range: plus 10% mark-up for MRCVS.
