The University of Swabi was established in 2012 by the KP Government in Anbar, Swabi. Its mission is to advance knowledge and learning through quality research and education for the entire nation.
The university is located in Anbar, in the Swabi District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in Pakistan. Prior to becoming its own district in 1988, Swabi was a town within the Mardan District. Approximately 96 percent of the population speaks Pashto as their first language.
The university is organised into various faculties offering both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. These faculties include economics, geology, microbiology, sociology, chemistry, law, education, mathematics, psychology, tourism, and hotel management.
Throughout the year, the university conducts research across a wide range of scientific and academic fields, with publications appearing in two primary journals: the Journal of the University of Swabi (JUS) and the Abaseen Review Journal (ARJ).
The university is dedicated to the personal, social, academic, and career growth of all students, faculty, and staff, with the goal of becoming a prominent national and international centre for learning and research.
The university has established partnerships with several other higher education institutions to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges. For example, its partnership with Gajju Khan Medical College promotes research in the medical and pharmaceutical fields.
