Position overview

The Centre for Public Health Research, based at Massey University's Wellington campus, is dedicated to hauora and health research that improves public health, reduces health inequities, and informs policy development. We are committed to training new health researchers and maintaining strong connections with policymakers to ensure our research makes a real impact.

We are seeking a Research Assistant - Pacific Health Research to support fieldwork and research projects. A key focus of this role is a study on Pacific children's access to and use of paediatric palliative care in Aotearoa New Zealand. This research will identify challenges and enablers, providing evidence to enhance healthcare policies and guidelines for Pacific communities.

This is a fixed-term position for 12 months based in Wellington, with a salary range of $48,596 - $71,027, depending on skills and experience.

Key responsibilities:

Supporting the promotion and implementation of Pacific health research Assisting with the recruitment of Pacific children and caregivers receiving palliative care Conducting interviews and administering questionnaires with research participants Supporting data collection and processing Assisting with Pacific-focused health initiatives led by Dr. Sunia Foliaki at Massey University

What we are looking for:

Strong organisational skills and experience in data collection and processing Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel Excellent oral and written communication skills Self-motivation and the ability to work independently Ability to engage effectively with Pacific communities and diverse groups A passion for health and research Flexibility to work early evenings and weekends when required A clean, current New Zealand driver's licence is essential A tertiary qualification in a relevant field is preferred An ability to communicate in a Pacific language would be an advantage.

About the role

We are looking for a Programme Officer to join our Professional Services team in the Arts Cluster to support the Film Studies and Music Department, working within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at one of the most prestigious universities in the UK.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to anyone who is interested in providing high quality comprehensive support for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

You will act as the first point of contact for students and academic staff, providing a professional, supportive, responsive and personable service. Essential criteria


	Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft document and correspondence

Description

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral position in the areas of the areas of extrasolar and solar system planets at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) with Dr. Ian Dobbs-Dixon. Areas associated with planetary atmospheres, planetary formation, interior evolution, and gravitational dynamics align with ongoing research at NYUAD, but other areas of interest are also encouraged. Positions are for 2 1 years and include competitive salaries and generous benefits including housing and educational subsidies for children.

Researchers will be expected to bring experience and expertise in areas such as radiative transfer, atmospheric chemistry, hydrodynamics, planetary structure, N-body calculations, planetary formation, retrieval calculations, or interior modelling. Astrophysical research at NYUAD spans a wide range of topics, including astroparticle studies, stellar and planetary physics, compact objects, and cosmological simulations, allowing researchers to interact with a wide swath of topics. In parallel to the academic departments at NYUAD, Institute Programs serve to significantly enhance research activities, including the Center for Astrophysics and Space Science (CASS). Overall, more than 30 postdoctoral researchers are involved with astrophysics, providing a rich environment for research.

Research at NYUAD into planetary physics is heavily supported at both the institutional and national levels. Locally, NYUAD has access to significant on-campus computational resources, including a 60,000 core Infiniband Cluster dedicated to the science division and to other supercomputer facilities through the CASS network. Nationally, the commitment to Space Science has increased exponentially, culminating most recently in the successful insertion of the Al Amal Spacecraft into the Martian atmosphere. The next years will see a lunar and asteroid missions as well. Overall, the commitment to planetary science at NYUAD and within the UAE promises to spur significant advancements, allow for scientific innovation, and provide future opportunities.

Interested applicants would join the NYUAD Planetary Science Group, working directly with Prof. Ian Dobbs-Dixon. Applicants are required to have a PhD in Astrophysics or closely related field. Introduction

The Department of Cognitive Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University invites applications for faculty positions in Psychology at the levels of instructor and assistant/associate professor. The area of specialization is open but applicants with proven expertise in the fields of Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or Cross-Cultural Psychology are encouraged to apply. The Psychology Program

The psychology program which is part of the Department of Cognitive Sciences at UAEU is dynamic and diverse, with excellent research facilities. The program has recently expanded the number of course offerings to students and we seek a collegial and talented colleague to bring the enhanced program to fruition. Research strengths of the program include neuroscience, cognitive psychology, clinical psychology, school psychology and psychometric assessment.

The University

The UAEU is located in Al Ain city (Emirate of Abu Dhabi), on the border with Oman and about 1.5 hours’ drive from the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s and a relevant doctoral degree in psychology from an internationally reputable university.

Applicants must have earned a minimum master’s degree in psychology from an internationally reputable university.

Applicants at all levels must have (a) a proven track record of research publications in accredited peer-reviewed scientific journals commensurate with career stage and (b) a proven record of effective teaching experience at undergraduate level.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

Preference may be given to applicants who (1) have completed recognized professional development courses in the provision of third level education and (2) relevant practical experience in the fields of clinical psychology (leading to licensure), developmental psychology, or cross-cultural Psychology.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to:

Provide high quality instruction to undergraduate students.

Conduct and publish high quality research within an area of their professional interest.

Present research at national and international conferences.

Serve on internal department, college and university committees.

Engage in activities that will promote department excellence at national and international levels.

As the language of instruction at UAEU is English, applicants need to have native or near-native fluency in English.

Requirements

	at least 5 years’ solid experience in conducting professional training for medical and/or social work sector on EoLC and/or public education on EoLC related topics in Hong Kong
	good command of written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese) and English
	possess expert competence including, but not limited to, palliative care, family counseling, use of art, use of therapeutic groups and bereavement care
	a strong reputation in psycho-social and communication aspects of EoLC and knowledge on e-learning design would be an advantage
