The University of Thi-Qar is university located in Nasiriyah, Iraq.

It was originally a branch of the University of Basra, and became an independent university in 2002.

The university offers bachelor, master and doctorate degrees in several courses across its main three areas: medicine, science and humanities. Across its 20 colleges, the university offers a breadth of study programmes in areas including archaeology, law, media, nursing, veterinary medicine, physical education, and agriculture among others.

The University of Thi-Qar has a selective admission policy based on students¡¯ past academic records, with an admission rate of around 70 per cent.

A range of facilities, both academic and non-academic, are accessible to students including a library, university housing, sports facilities, scholarships, study abroad opportunities and distance learning opportunities.
