The Position

This position is funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence in Optical Microcombs for Breakthrough Science, which explores societal impacts of optical frequency combs through advances in physics, materials science, and nanofabrication.

Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) has recently revolutionised seismology by turning telecommunication fiber-optic cables into high-resolution ground motion sensors. This cutting-edge technology bridges the gap between traditional seismic imaging and geological samples, offering a wide range of applications.

The Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Fellow will work on the deployment, acquisition, analysis and interpretation of large DAS datasets and development of technical advances using optical frequency microcombs.? The goal is to expand the capability of our strong field-based seismic imaging research utilising DAS with new technology innovations through the ARC Centre of Excellence COMBS, and therefore understanding of the Earth’s structure and evolution.

The Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Fellow will be a member of?Research School of Earth Sciences?(RSES). RSES is Australia’s leading academic research institution for Earth and Marine Sciences, and ranked 11th in the world for Earth and Marine Sciences (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023). The Strategic Outreach and Marketing Officer in the Admissions and Student Recruitment Office at Maynooth University will play a key role in enhancing the University’s brand presence, expanding domestic outreach, and supporting student recruitment objectives through innovative and data-driven marketing and engagement strategies. They will be responsible for supporting the Undergraduate Student Recruitment Manager in creating and executing a strategic recruitment plan for domestic growth. The Officer will lead the Schools Liaison programme (including the School Visits and Career Exhibition calendar), ensuring alignment with the University’s strategic objectives and effective execution of recruitment initiatives across key regions. In addition to event and programme coordination, the Officer will use historical data to design and refine recruitment strategies, tracking outcomes to enhance impact. They will also collaborate closely with the Communications and Marketing Office and external agencies to manage annual undergraduate recruitment campaigns. Relationship-building with external stakeholders, including schools and guidance counselors, is a critical part of the role, as is overseeing key outreach activities such as career fairs and the schools outreach programme.

This dynamic role requires a highly organised, strategic thinker with experience in marketing, stakeholder engagement, outreach coordination, and leadership, ideally within the context of education or recruitment. The Schools, Outreach, and Marketing Officer will be a crucial contributor to the University's growth strategy, representing Maynooth University to prospective students and influencers across Ireland.

About School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment

Our school offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Industrial Design, Architecture, Construction Management, and Engineering, integrating advanced academic knowledge with practical training. About the role

We are seeking a forward-thinking, dynamic, and innovative scholar to join our team as a Associate Professor in Industrial Design. This pivotal role involves leading all Industrial Design programs, fostering research and teaching connections with Architecture, and promoting multi-disciplinary collaboration across the school, including Construction Management, Engineering, and Urban Transformation. Under the direction of the Dean of Programs (UniSA College), the Aboriginal Pathway (AP) Program Regional Tutor is responsible for providing high quality teaching and learning experiences for students enrolled into AP programs in the regions.

The program is offered to eligible Aboriginal peoples with no tuition fees incurred by the student. After an initial 3 year delivery period, with the successful enrolment and completion numbers of students completing the program and subsequently transitioning into their chosen undergraduate degree. ?

Core Responsibilities


	Deliver teaching materials and ongoing tutorial support for students by implementing appropriate teaching approaches including face to face, online and blended learning, to promote student learning and engagement
	Engage in student consultation to provide local learning support for students to assist retention and success, and direct students at risk to the Program Director: APP and Regions for academic counselling
	Participate in marking and grade moderation as part of quality assurance
	Under the direction of, and in collaboration with, the Program Director: APP and Regions, implement strategies to ensure the programs meet the needs and expectations of relevant stakeholders including students, the university, and community
	Liaise with Pastoral Care Support Officer and Wirringka Student Services to ensure Aboriginal Tutorial Assistance (ATP) tutoring is provided in a timely, efficient and effective manner

Qualifications


	A PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, or related disciplines;?

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience.
