The New York Institute of Technology will host the Times Higher Education US Student Success Forum next month.
The forum, which will take place on 4 and 5 September, will bring together administrators from some of the US¡¯ biggest institutions and university organisations, including?Lynn Pasquerella, president of the?Association of American Colleges and Universities, and?Richard Ekman, president of the Council of Independent Colleges. They will discuss the ways in which US universities can support the latest generation of students as they face new challenges and pressures from the modern world.
Attendees will also hear from Connecticut College president Katherine Bergeron; University of Missouri chancellor Alexander Cartwright; and Rochester Institute of Technology president David Munson as they debate how (and if) US institutions can continue to teach across a diverse range of subjects without sacrificing quality or depth and can better prepare students for the workplace.
Meanwhile, industry experts will?explore how universities can support first-generation undergraduates, and whether the traditional liberal arts model remains the most effective way for the US to produce high-quality academics of the future. ?
The forum will also provide insights into the performance of US universities in the latest Wall Street Journal/THE?US College Rankings,?which will be launched at the event on 4 September.
