The concept of a Vietnamese-German University was developed in 2005 and officially founded three years later in 2008. Its aim was to become Vietnam¡¯s leading research university that specialises in engineering, technology and economics. It was developed in close partnership with German higher education institutions.
The university¡¯s main campus is located in Binh Duong, and its second in Ho Chi Minh City. As a Vietnamese-German institution, it collaborates with its 36 German partner universities. Professors known as the "flying faculty" will travel from these partner universities to teach at the university.
Striving to create the next generation of scientists, engineers and managers, it offers bachelor¡¯s, master¡¯s and doctoral degree programmes. Students can choose from undergraduate degrees in mechanical engineering, mechatronics and sensor systems technology, sustainable urban development, global finance and economics, and more.
With over 18 student-run clubs in sports, academics, arts and culture, there¡¯s something for everyone. Clubs include consulting, photography, basketball, aikido, PR and events, robotics, and Deutsch club.
Internship opportunities become available each year among the university's network of over 50 local and international companies. However, most of the university¡¯s study programmes integrate internships and work with students to find the perfect host for their internships.
