Adjunct instructors work with students to provide them with the knowledge and training they need to be successful in their chosen career.Adjunct faculty members may teach one or more courses each semester based on availability and student need. These courses may meet during the day, evening, or online, based on the adjunct faculty's availability, expertise, and program/student need. Required Qualifications An earned graduate degree from an accredited university in IT or another field closely connected to IT to teach at the undergraduate level. A sufficient combination of experience, certifications, and education may also be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.A terminal degree from an accredited university in IT or another field closely connected to IT to teach at the graduate level. The appointee is expected to: i) teach relevant courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate final projects; ii) generate research outputs with high impact and participate in competitive grant application exercises; iii) assist the Department with administration and curriculum development.

Requirements

Applicants for the position should have:


	A PhD degree in applied linguistics or a relevant area;
	Good track record of publications, grants, awards;
	Some experience in teaching or developing courses in digital humanities, corpus linguistics, or sociolinguistics.


An appointee at the level of Assistant Professor should, besides being an effective teacher, demonstrate great potential to produce quality research output in the very near future.

Appointment

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join King's College London and work with our Placements Team in the Nightingale Student Hub. We provide a range of student and education support services for the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery, & Palliative Care, including supporting practice learning for our students in clinical placements.?

The work of our Placements Team is essential to supporting over 11,500 placements each year. As a Placements Officer, you will help us to provide world-leading educational support for student placements. Our Placements Team are part of a dynamic and evolving landscape of practice-learning which reaches beyond our many NHS Trust Partners into placements within communities across Greater London.

The successful candidate will be able to support effective partnerships and work supportively at all levels, both internally and externally. With a highly motivated approach, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the importance of a student-focussed service and an ethos of continual enhancement. The successful candidate will be committed to contributing to our objectives, exemplifying Our Principles in Action as part of King’s Strategic Vision 2029.

The role will involve the provision of first line support to students on placements, which will incorporate the development of an expert knowledge of an online practice learning system.

This is a full time (35 hours per week), and you will be offered as fixed term contract for 2 years until the 26 April 2027.

Description
The Departments of Chicana and Chicano Studies and English and Comparative Literature at San Diego State University seek a scholar of Joteria/ LGBTQ  Chicana/o/x Studies for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level. The successful candidate will have a joint appointment in both departments. We look favorably on candidates with expertise in trans of color and queer of color studies; cultural studies with emphases in literature, media, cinema, and/or sound; and border politics associated with sexuality studies, reproductive justice, and gender-based violences and femicide.  A demonstrated record of engagement with Chicanx community-based organizations is preferred. Successful applicants will teach interdisciplinary Chicana/o/x courses through the lens of queer and trans studies and will build on the College's faculty strengths in feminist theories, queer and trans cultural studies, and transborder studies. An HSI situated 25 miles from the US-Mexico Border, San Diego State University is one of the only institutions in the nation to offer a major in LGBTQ  Studies, in addition to a minor and graduate certificate, and is consistently listed as one of the most LGBTQ-friendly campuses according to the CampusPride.org Index.
