The Department of Mathematical Sciences at University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) seeks to fill three academic positions, one for Assistant Professor (Level 5), one for Associate Professor (Level 6) and one for Full Professor (Level 7).

The Department of Mathematical Sciences currently runs two programmes, which lead successful graduates to University of Nottingham degrees in BSc Honours Mathematics with Applied Mathematics and BSc Honours Statistics. Some of our students spend the last two years of education in Nottingham, UK, but most of them graduate in Ningbo, China. All our teaching is delivered in English, which is the academic working language of the university.

About You

We seek to appoint an articulate teacher, with international experience of teaching in English, as the successful candidate will be expected to lead and deliver lectures and seminars in Mathematics.

The person appointed will be expected to supervise postgraduate research students, to conduct their own research activities and to play a leading role in the research activities of the Department.

For Associate and Full Professor, the positions are open to candidates that are internationally renowned for their research with a strong record of highly regarded publications and attracting research grants. Applicants for Associate Professor are expected to:


	have record of supervision to completion of at least one PhD student
	currently hold an Associate Professor rank or have at least three years of experience at Lecturer/Assistant Professor rank.


Applicants for Full Professor are expected to:


	have record of supervision of completion of at least four PhD students as lead supervisor
	currently hold a Full Professor rank or have at least three years of experience at Reader/Associate Professor rank.

Description

We are looking to hire two research assistants to help us design and build novel systems and tools for decision-making support. You can learn more about our research vision and work on the lab website (huda-lab.github.io). HuDa lab examines data and decision-making from a tooling and systems-building perspective[1]. A successful candidate should be able to design and implement systems and tools as well as demonstrate their efficacy through comparative performance evaluations or user studies. They should be able to work independently or within a team depending on the scope of the project. As we publicly share all our code and data artifacts, good coding & reproducible experimenting practices are a must.

?We meet frequently to provide short status updates and have regular technical 1-1s to dive deep into research problems. Successful RAs or REs present their work, progress, and challenges concisely and clearly. They should be keen about publishing their work and findings and strive to meet deadlines.

?A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is required. The candidate should also demonstrate experience and excellence in systems or tool building, algorithmic thinking, and research. The ability to program in Python, C , and other frameworks is a must. Comfort with declarative programming, SQL, and data management is highly desired. The job description further outlines desired skill sets including the completion of advanced courses or projects in systems, HCI or AI/ML.

About the Role

The Research Fellow, Health Economics will provide health economics expertise to a range of (externally) funded projects to determine if research outputs are economically viable. This position will be expected to produce high quality research outputs. The Research Fellow, Health Economics will assist with the preparation of research proposals, and will be expected to provide input into decisions about future studies, including the sourcing of potential funds and the development of grant applications. This position may also supervise or co-supervise major honours or postgraduate research projects within the research area.

You should possess strong quantitative research skills, including econometrics, data analytics, and statistics. Experience in contributing to peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations is essential. Additionally, you should have the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.

You will also have:


	Postgraduate / PhD qualifications in health economics, health services research, economics, or econometrics
	Demonstrated high level communication skills and capacity to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Description of the position:

Postdoctoral Fellow hiring in the framework of a project focused on the valorization of microalgae for

biotechnological applications. Successful candidate is expected to have:


	Experience in isolation, culture techniques of microalgae and cyanobacteria strains, growth optimization of the strains of interest according to the targeted application.
	Expertise on the green extraction, chemical characterization of natural active molecules and biomacromolecules from algae (macro/microalgae).
	Knowledge and familiarity of analytical techniques necessary for structural using GC/LC-MS analysis.
	Experience in molecular biology techniques: PCR, RT-PCR and Biochemistry methods such as colorimetric and enzymatic activity would be suitable.


Education
