About the role

As a Research Fellow you will be part of an international interdisciplinary and multi-institutional research team in the area of One Health. You will be part of a multi-state research project implementing community-based mental wellbeing and disaster preparedness programs in natural hazard-prone rural communities across NSW, SA and WA. The project will also assess longer-term mental health outcomes of rural Australians. This project will critically contribute to rural health, disaster preparedness, and protecting mental health and wellbeing in the face of climate change. Your role will include supporting the establishment and implementation of the research project, overseeing data collection, contributing to quantitative, qualitative and/or longitudinal data analysis, and preparation of publications, reports and conference presentations. You will work independently under guidance of the chief investigator team, and in collaboration with the trial coordinator and research assistants, and help to supervise postgraduate or Honours students.

	A PhD or extensive research experience in psychology or health
	An emerging track record and demonstrated skills in related research
	Excellent organisation and interpersonal skills
	An enthusiasm to work in a team environment?
	Knowledge of OneHealth, mental health, rural health or clinical psychology or experience in clinical trials
	Willingness to engage with community groups and stakeholders to achieve research objectives

The School of Psychology at UNE is a leading provider of psychology education and training and the university of choice for students who wish to work in rural and regional Australia. ???????The School of Psychology currently has an exciting opportunity for a research fellow within the new One Health research pillar. The School of Psychology at UNE is rated at well above world standard for research across topic areas, with key research streams including Environmental Psychology, and Psychosocial Health and Wellbeing in Rural Communities.

The Psychosocial Health and Wellbeing Research Group comprises academics with a particular focus on understanding the mental health of those living in rural populations, including in response to natural disasters such as drought and fires which particularly impact rural communities. The Environmental Psychology and Climate Change Research Group comprises academic staff and students who are interested in how psychological principles can be applied to understand and help solve problems related to environmental sustainability and helping individuals and communities adapt to climate change. Projects examine the impacts of climate change and resultant natural hazards such as fire, flood, cyclones and drought on health and wellbeing. Research projects also focus on how to build resilient individuals and communities, including through interventions to support the well-being of those affected by natural hazards and climate anxiety.

The faculty Bursar of the MU Faculty of Medicine announces a?selection procedure for the position of Postdoc in?The Novel Mechanisms in Skeletogenesis?at the Department of Biology, MED MUNI

The project and responsibilities

The bone formation and skeletogenesis are complex processes many aspects of which are not understood. In order to produce treatments for developmental and aging bone disorders, we need to uncover molecular mechanisms that are involved. The selected applicant will lead a?project on mechanisms GRK2 kinase uses to produce and maintain healthy skeleton. This project will involve conditional mouse models, ex-vivo explants and cellular models; the approaches will comprise mainly morphological and histological analysis of the mouse skeletal tissues, establishment of primary cultures, and cell signaling experiments. Beyond the research tools and technology available in the lab and the hosting department, they will have access to the state-of-the-art instrumentation and services at the MUNI University campus core facilities. They will also participate in projects of other group members, including PhD and master students.
