Award winner: Constance Alabert

Institution: University of?Dundee

Value: ?1.1?million

Impact of DNA replication on epigenetics

¡°With the grant that I have just received, my group will have the opportunity to answer fundamental questions related to the maintenance of cell identity through rounds of divisions,¡± said Constance Alabert, principal investigator at the University of Dundee¡¯s Centre for Gene Regulation and Expression. ¡°During the next five years we will try to detect how cells duplicate their genetic and epigenetic material. ¡°We will use this knowledge to uncover the molecular mechanism of cell fate. The prestigious grant from the ERC will provide me with the funding I need to carry my ambitious five-year plan. It will also help me to attract best national and international talents to work in my lab.¡±
