The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess universities against the United Nations¡¯ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We use carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons across three broad areas: research, outreach and stewardship.

This table on SDG 15 ¨C life on land measures universities¡¯ research on life on land and their education on and support for land ecosystems.

The list includes 268 universities from 55 countries.

The list is led by the UK¡¯s University of Leicester. Australia¡¯s Western Sydney University ranks second, while New Zealand¡¯s University of Auckland and Canada¡¯s University of British Columbia are in joint third place.

Japan is the most-represented nation in the table with 36 institutions, followed by the UK with 16 and Russia with 14.
